The Umidigi Bison X10S is similar to the Umidigi Power 5S, but with a more rugged design that includes IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810G certifications.
The low-cost Android phone comes equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB Type-C port, and Bluetooth 5.0. It also has a built-in FM antenna, so you don’t have to connect an earphone to the headphone jack to listen to FM radio, which is very handy. It has 4G LTE, dual 4G VoLTE, and dual Wi-Fi.
The Umidigi phone has a Storm Grey AG Matte Fiberglass surface, whereas the Bison X10G has a Hack Black rubber finish. Aside from the color and material differences, both cellphones are identical.
The Umidigi Bison X10S is a less expensive component of the Bison Series. It performs worse than the Umidigi Bison X10 and Bison X10 Pro.
The smartphone has a 6150 mAh battery that provides decent battery life. Umidigi Bison X10S is precisely the same as the Umidigi Bison X10G, except for the finishing of their respective builds.
Umidigi Bison X10S Design and Display
The Umidigi Bison X10S has a tough build that can endure harsh environments and a 1.8-meter drop. The majority of the body is finished in Storm Grey AG Matte Fiberglass, with curves around the corners covered in rubber cushions to alleviate fall weight. The camera lens are also protected in tough material making underwater utilization feasible.
The IP68 rating indicates that it can endure up to 30 minutes in up to 1.5 meters of water, as well as dust and sand. The Umidigi X10S, with an IP69K rating, can also endure steam at up to 100 bars (1450 psi) or water pressure and water temperatures of up to 80 °C.
To top it all off, the MIL-STD-810G provides military standard ruggedness. The smartphone has a Lanyard hook, so you can attach one and suspend it around your neck.
The 6.53-inch monitor on the Umidigi Bison X10S has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The screen is adequate for viewing movies and surfing the web.
All of this adds up to a formidable smartphone even in harsh settings, as evidenced by IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810G ratings.
Aside from the standard power and audio controls, the smartphone has two customizable buttons. Underwater photography is possible with one of the configurable buttons.
You can also designate actions to the buttons so that a single click, double click, or long press of the button will initiate the action, such as opening an app or taking a screenshot.
However, this variant lacks a fingerprint sensor. Only the front-facing camera provides an AI-enhanced Face Unlock function. If you need a fingerprint reader, opt for the Bison X10S NFC (if it is available in your country).
