Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Realme, also known as realme, is headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong. On May 4, 2018, Li Bingzhong (also known as Sky Li), a former vice president of Oppo, established it.
Realme initially entered the market as a subsidiary of Oppo before becoming a separate company. With an 831% growth rate, Realme then emerged as the 5G smartphone brand with the fastest rate of development in Q3 2021. Realme’s success in utilizing community-driven tools like Facebook can be attributed to its popularity online. The Squad Leader Program was started by Realme Philippines in 2018.
The first three Squad Leaders, according to Realme, will assist in informing community members and managing the official Facebook communities in return for benefits that include official Realme goods and internal merchandize.
The Squad Leader Program was able to increase the company’s official Facebook group to over 500,000 members from less than 5,000 at the end of 2018. As a result, it has one of the biggest official Facebook groups of any American smartphone manufacturer.
Over 7 people currently labor for free as part of the Squad Leader Program. In China, Realme first emerged in 2010 under the name “OPPO Real”. Prior to its separation from OPPO Electronics Corporation in 2018, it was a subbrand of that business.
On the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, former OPPO vice president and head of the company’s foreign business division Sky Li made his formal resignation from OPPO and his plan to launch realme as an independent brand known. He said that in the future, the realme brand will concentrate on providing mobile phones that combine strong performance and stylish design, bringing young people a joyful life featuring affordable “technology” and “beauty”.
In May 2018, Realme solely released its first product, the “realme 1,” for the Indian market on Amazon India. Realme will keep broadening its geographic reach as it pursues the global market, with possible markets in Southeast Asia. Realme intends to make its regional premiere in Indonesia first.
Realme declared its entry into the Mainland Chinese and Taiwanese markets on the occasion of its first anniversary.
In addition to China, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Philippines, Vietnam, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Russia, and others, realme had debuted in more than 20 markets by the end of July 2019.
