Apple iPhone Price In Nigeria

The iPhone is a series of cellphones manufactured by Apple Inc. that run Apple’s iOS mobile operating system. On January 9, 2007, then-Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the first-generation iPhone. Since then, Apple has introduced new iPhone models and iOS updates on an annual basis.

More than 2.2 billion iPhones had been distributed as of November 1, 2018. By 2022, the iPhone will hold 15.6% of the worldwide smartphone market share.

The iPhone was the first phone to feature multi-touch technology.[4] Since its introduction, the iPhone has acquired larger screen sizes, video recording, waterproofing, and numerous accessibility features.

iPhones had a single button on the front panel with the Touch ID fingerprint reader until the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. Since the iPhone X, iPhone models have featured a virtually bezel-free front screen design, Face ID facial recognition, and gesture-activated app switching. Touch ID is still used on the entry-level iPhone SE models.

The iPhone, along with Android, is one of the world’s two biggest smartphone platforms, and it accounts for a sizable portion of the luxury market. Apple has made significant profits as a result of the iPhone, making it one of the world’s most valuable publicly traded businesses.

The first-generation iPhone was dubbed a “revolution” in the mobile phone industry, and subsequent models have received similar acclaim.

The iPhone has been credited with popularizing the smartphone and slate form factor, and with establishing a large market for smartphone applications, or “app economy”. As of January 2017, Apple’s App Store had over 2.2 million iPhone apps.

Up until the iPhone 4, all iPhones and other iOS devices were made in Taiwan by Foxconn. Apple’s manufacturing plan was changed in 2011 by new CEO Tim Cook in order to diversify its suppliers.

The iPhone 4S was the first model to be manufactured concurrently by two separate companies, Foxconn and Pegatron, both of which are located in Taiwan. Although Foxconn continues to manufacture more iPhones, Pegatron’s orders have gradually increased: the firm contributed to the iPhone 5C line in 2013, and 30% of iPhone 6 devices in 2014.

In response to China’s “zero-COVID” policy, which has harmed global supply chains in many industries, Apple revealed in 2022 that a portion of the iPhone 14 would be manufactured in Tamil Nadu, India. Apple has indicated that by 2025, they intend to shift 25% of iPhone production to India.

The Apple ecosystem has been characterized as a critical moat that increases brand loyalty to the iPhone. With its “green bubbles” phenomenon, iMessage has been marked out in particular.

SMS messages from Android users show as green bubbles in iMessage, rather than blue bubbles for texts from other iPhone users.

Group chats between iOS and Android are underutilized; reactions appear as text rather than bubbles, and pictures are sent via MMS, which degrades image clarity.

Some teenagers have reported being “ostracized” after moving to Android, which Google has labeled as “bullying.” Critics have described this as a major reason in 87% of US teenagers using iPhones.
